What you'll do...

      We are seeking an experienced UX Research leader to support a team of user experience researchers. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering impactful research that aims to identify problems, inform product roadmaps, and test the design of connected associate experiences for our 2.3 million Walmart Associates.

      As the manager, you will collaborate closely with partners in product, business, and design to build insight-driven solutions that best meet the needs of our associates. Your ability to effectively lead a team, measure impact, and leverage research findings will be critical in driving the success of our products.

      What you'll do:


      • Develop and oversee a team of user experience researchers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality research is conducted
      • Define research objectives, roadmaps, and methodologies to address key business and product questions
      • Lead the research process, including planning, execution, analysis, and synthesis of findings, and share out
      • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with cross-functional teams to understand associate needs and drive impactful solutions
      • Translate research findings into actionable insights and recommendations for product teams
      • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in user experience research 



      What you'll bring:


      • A servant leader mentality. Experience managing and growing high performing design research team in large enterprises.
      • A demonstrated track record owning and leading design research to influence product roadmap and launch new products.
      • Exhibit excellent ability to work cross-functionally, garner support to secure resources, and think strategically to create research strategy for complex product areas.
      • A maker mindset. You have an extensive research toolkit of generative and evaluative research methods and know how to apply them in a fast-moving organization. You guide your team on how to best address research goals and questions, so your partners don’t have to.
      • Demonstrated data-inspired research and the ability to translate research data into product priorities and strategic narratives, new business opportunities, within and across different projects and products to inform end-to-end journey.
      • Experience crafting and facilitating Design Thinking workshops with your cross-functional teams and with leaders.
      • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to motivate teams and partners.
      • Find joy in leading by doing. You inspire, coach, and contribute to our team culture.
      • Crafting a strategic research roadmap that pulls from a broad toolkit of in-person and remote research methods including interviews, un-moderated studies, field studies, participatory design, co-creation, diary studies, surveys, and usability testing.
      • Switching gears from deep design thinking to rapid-fire execution.
      • Having exceptional communication & presentation skills, both written and verbal.

      Minimum Qualifications...

          Option 1: Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 4 years’ experience in market research, business analysis, UX design research, or related area.
          Option 2: 6 years' experience in market research, business analysis, UX design research, or related area.
          As permitted by applicable law, provide evidence of full vaccination as defined by CDC guidelines OR secure approval of medical or religious accommodation for the vaccination mandate.
          1 year’s supervisory experience.
